I am writing a biography of my father Wilfred Burnett. He was seconded to BOAC in December 1945 and was based at Poole from February 1946 until he rejoined the RAF in March 1947. He flew Sunderlands and Hythes on the route to Singapore. He was appointed Captain at the beginning of 1947 and had to choose between BOAC or the RAF. He chose the latter and retired in 1968 having first joined the RAF in 1937. He enjoyed the flying boats but never regretted choosing the more varied career in the RAF. His log book reveals the demanding schedules of these flights.
I am interested in information about this period and of any references to my father in this period of his career.
